Angelique Kerber brushed aside the red-hot form of Bianca Bencic to move into her first Indian Wells final on Friday.
The German eighth seed and reigning Wimbledon champion was always in command of the match, and eased to a 6-4, 6-2 success.
Bencic came into the match riding a 12-game winning streak, and her defeat is her first to a top ten player in two months.
“It’s always tough to play against Belinda,”. Kerber said after the match.
Kerber will face teen star Bianca Andreescu in the final, but the last thing she will allow herself to do is underestimate the Canadian.
