Ten years after Bayern lost the final at home to Chelsea, the Champions League final in 2022 will once again take place in Munich. The bid for the Allianz Arena as venue by the UEFA Executive Committee on Tuesday in Ljubljana is reported to be safe.
This will be the 67th season of Europe’s premier club football tournament organised by UEFA, and the 30th season since it was renamed from the European Champion Clubs’ Cup to the UEFA Champions League.
The only competitor, St. Petersburg, is to be considered for hosting the final in 2021. Next year, the Champions League winner will be crowned in Istanbul on 30th May.
