Juan Martin del Potro Pulls Out of 2 Planned Comeback Tournaments.

Injury-plagued Juan Martin del Potro has abandoned his plans to return to competitive action this season, but doctors insist the news is positive.

The Argentinian fractured the knee cap in his right leg for the second time in nine months back in June during a match at Queen’s.

He was, however, due to return to play in Stockholm and Vienna later this year, but those plans have now been scrapped.

“Juan Martin del Potro visited the Mapfre de Mecidina del Tenis Clinic in Barcelona,” Del Potro’s management said via social media.

“After some tests, including on-court exercises supervised by Dr. Angel Ruiz Cotorro, the right knee was shown great signs of a solid recovery.
